Delete your account

You can permanently delete your CheersBuddy account at any time. Here’s exactly what happens.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app

  1. Sign in to CheersBuddy.
  2. Open Edit profile and scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom.
  3. Select Delete account, type DELETE to confirm, and your account is removed immediately.

Option 2 — Email us

If you can’t sign in, email support@cheersbuddy.app from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We respond within 7 days.

What gets deleted

  • Your login credentials and email address.
  • Your profile (display name, username, bio, avatar, banner, focus, level, support role).
  • Your wins and the photos attached to them.
  • Cheers and encouragement messages you sent.
  • Your weekly intentions and reflections.
  • Your block list and any reports tied to your account.

Cheers and encouragement messages that other members received from you may stay attached to theirwins as anonymous support, so we don’t erase the encouragement someone else has read. Your name is removed.

What we may keep briefly

For up to 30 days we may keep minimal records required by law, fraud prevention, or to honour a pending safety report. After that, those records are permanently deleted from our systems. Encrypted backups roll off on a 30-day cycle.

Need something less drastic?

You can also hide individual wins from your public profile, update your details, or unblock someone you previously blocked from Edit profile.

Want to delete specific data only?

You do not need to delete your whole account to request removal of specific data. You can ask us to delete posts, cheers, profile information, or uploaded images by contacting support@cheersbuddy.app.
